Children love to make crafts and have fun making things. Learning to sew is neither overly simple, nor is it rocket science.
The machines may have a hand crank or a treadle, which was a flat pedal for both feet to provide the motion for the sewing mechanism. Most of the time, we would make it into a social event where their moms would join us and we would have as afternoon of sewing and fellowship. Commercial sewing machines have machine motors.
But some of them are not recommended for a steady 8 hour work day. You can make anything from doll clothes to you very own clothes. Always be careful of your budget.
